KAYLIN CANTU

Kaylin holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Her academic and professional interests focus on investigative journalism, strategic communication, and public-interest storytelling.

Her research and reporting experience include a capstone project with the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, where she worked as an Investigative Reporter in collaboration with CBS on a national investigation into moonlighting police officers and the lack of oversight surrounding their secondary employment. She also studied abroad at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she supported ongoing research through data analysis using R, further strengthening her skills in in-depth research, analytical writing, and data-driven reporting.

Kaylin is motivated by a commitment to public service and the role of journalism in strengthening democratic accountability. She seeks to contribute to research and policy initiatives by translating complex issues into clear, accessible narratives that inform, engage, and empower public audiences.
